well i am making it to the gym more regularly---however i have managed a calf injury which is impeding the intensity of my workouts---my weight is about the same at 147---149! not what i want---a couple halloween parties and kaboom!!! this week has been quite on track w a dessert craving last night satisfied by sugar-free pudding (1/2 cup) made w skim milk---thanksgiving day is 3 weeks from tomorrow and i want to be able to indulge in mom's nashed potatoes and a piece of her pecan pie without guilt---that will happen if i enter that day w 3-4# off of my "winter" body!!! so this week there are 2 additional workouts planned and 1 cheat meal---
how about you??? how are you tackling the fitness and physique goals you have set for yourself? where is your focus? what is your plan???

i posted this challenge one week ago! now i need feed back from marlene! mandi! and roey! what have u done over the past 7 days to advance towards your goals? or what have you not done!? how can i/we help? if you jump on this blog/bandwagon i/we would love to hear back w updates at least once a week---even daily if that works for u!!!
now this is where i try to help! 2 big things i have to say are as follows:
(from the bill phillips "body for life" ---a super must read re-read! the quote probably camr from someone else 1st but this is where i remember it from)
"IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN THEN YOU PLAN TO FAIL"
and from me:
"WRITE IT DOWN"
break your larger more long-term goals down into smaller CONCRETE short-term goals---think bite-size (tis the season) goals!!! daily goals/weekly goals work best!
WRITE DOWN your goal---for example:
"i will walk after work for 40 minutes 3 evenings this week and once this weekend" or
"i will pre-plan my evening meals (5 oz of lean protein w/ 2 cups of green veggies) 4 nights this week (allowing a night out w/ friends or family) w/ a pre-planned "comfort food" snack ( 2 cups air-popped corn) allowed twice!
now GET OUT THE CALENDAR and WRITE IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! as the week progresses mark off the days you meet your goal---highlight it in your fav color---use stickers :) ---cross a big black X thru it!!! but WRITE IT DOWN!!!
this keeps you focused/honest/planned and most importantly---on target!!!
we are only 91/2 weeks from the new year!!! where do u WANT to be??? where WILL u be?????? it is all up to you!!!!!!!

this past weekend i was a slug!!! i did absolutely nothing to pursue my goals and i am soooo frustrated w myself!!! 4 hours of ghost whisperer---seriously!!!??? so i did my classes last night, came home and ate a clean balanced, appropriately portioned meal and feel much better this am!!!
so tell me---what have u done to reach your goals? what do u plan to do this week? do u know ur goals? --- write them down!!! also write down your plan---in your date book or journal---something u look at daily and keep your self honest!!! post ur plans here! feel free to comment on what others are and are NOT doing!!! keep it real! this week has been a true challenge---i have worked late 2 nights so i have only made the gym 2 nights and that is only to instruct my classes! no lifting!!! ugh!!! so i plan to make it in there tonight after work as well as tomorrow!!! FOCUS!

here's my challenge---it seems everyone waits until the new year to "get in shape" and for many of those of us who compete we are so relieved for some 'down-time" or "off-season" we get a bit too relaxed! (now we all know there is no off-season! butt.... and in some cases i do mean buuutttt 'cause sometimes it gets biiigggg!!!) soooo----let's do something different and "get in shape" by new year's! and really have something to celebrate!
whatever your personal level of fitness or personal goals are redouble your efforts NOW!!! DO NOT WAIT!!! come january 1 2011 be in better shape than you are today! make the holidays your fitness friend! not the enemy!!! start NOW!--- then come thankgiving and those xmas parties splurge a little and you will bounce right back!!! not sink into puffy mounds of flesh!!!
so what are your goals? lose 6 lbs?, fit into a smaller size dress or pants for a new year's party?, run faster or longer?, see the outline of your abs?, gain size in your chest, arms or legs?, prepare for your 1st race or competition? DO IT NOW!
whatever your top one or two goals are WRITE THEM DOWN! and share them with me and others on here! i am going to do the same! i would love to see a very supportive, energetic and very much alive and positive interactive group help one another succeed and burst thru 2010 into the new year in an unstoppable fashion!
